Actor John Krasinski has been named People magazine’s ‘Sexiest Man Alive’ for 2024. The beloved star of The Office and A Quiet Place takes the crown, captivating hearts worldwide with his charm and charisma.
It’s going to be a really weird Christmas,’ a very surprised John Krasinski said after being informed that he’s PEOPLE’s 2024 Sexiest Man Alive.
American actor john was officially named 2024 Sexiest Man Alive on Tuesday’s episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. The magazine also gave a sneak peek of its new cover via social media.
During the big reveal, show host Stephen Colbert joked he was ‘crushed’ not to be selected for the title. Krasinski then flashed up on screen, teasing Colbert: ‘Don’t worry, you might not be the Sexiest Man Alive but who really cares? Who is? Oh right, it’s me.’.

Krasinski went on to star in one of the most sidesplitting videos, complete with an ’80s infomercial style, as he doled out some ‘sexy’ tips to Colbert. There was even a very funny cameo by Chris Evans, a past Sexiest Man Alive titleholder.
Krasinski is greatly appreciated for his timeless role of Jim Halpert in The Office; he is also an amazing director. In 2018, Krasinski wrote, directed, and acted in the thriller a Quiet Place with a screenplay cowritten by his wife, actress Emily Blunt. The film had a successful sequel in 2020, in which he once again played both director and cowriter.
He has been starring in the series Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan as Jack Ryan on Prime Video since 2018 until 2023. It was announced last month that a film adaptation based on the series was in process.
When I told my wife, Emily Blunt, about my new title, he laughed, saying he couldn’t hear her on the other end because she was laughing too hard,” said Krasinski.
He takes the crown worn previously by Grey’s Anatomy star Patrick Dempsey, who was named Sexiest Man Alive in 2023.
