Imran Khan Demands:

Through his tweet, Former PM Imran Khan asked all the Pakistanis to gather in Islamabad on November 24th and stay there until their demands are granted. The leader called for citizens not to go back to their homes till such time that the response from the government attains the expectations of the people.

He said:

“I appeal to all Pakistanis to come to Islamabad on 24th November and not return to their homes until the demands are met.”

Major Demands of Imran Khan:

Besides the call for mass protests, Imran Khan pointed out four major demands:

Abolition of the 26th Amendment

  • The PTI leadership is demanding the abolition of the controversial 26th Amendment, which it claims is against the democratic and constitutional setup in Pakistan.
  • Restoration of Democracy and Constitution
Imran Khan reiterated that democracy should be completely restored and the supremacy of the Constitution of Pakistan, which, he said has been undermined by the political forces at work in the country right now.
  • Return of the Mandate
The “return of the mandate” implies the belief of PTI that the party’s victory in the previous general elections has been thwarted by undemocratic forces. Khan’s supporters assert that their electoral rights have been disregarded.
  • Freeing All Political Prisoners Who Are Innocent: A major part of his protest movement has revolved around freeing all political prisoners who are innocent. He says that many of the party members and supporters of his party have been kept in jail unjustly on the grounds of political standing and action.
